Fintech firm bolsters executive board as it continues to advance digital asset infrastructure ambitions

Axiology, the digital asset financial infrastructure platform, can today announce the appointment of two new non-executive board members: David Newns and Boris Battistini. The appointments further advance a board already distinguished by senior leadership arriving from central banking and institutional finance organisations.

David Newns joins as board member bringing direct experience building regulated digital asset infrastructure at scale. He previously served as CEO of SIX Digital Exchange (SDX), the world's first regulated digital securities exchange and CSD, and before that he was a Senior Managing Director at State Street, where he ran their independent multi asset class electronic trading platforms globaly. His track record spans the full journey from traditional institutional markets to the frontier of tokenised finance.

Boris Battistini also joins as Board Member alongside his role as Director at Metellus, bringing investment and strategic expertise to the board. Together, they join a board that includes Marius Jurgilas, Chairman and CEO, who served on the Board of the Bank of Lithuania; Algirdas Neciunskas, COO and former Director of Market Infrastructure at the Bank of Lithuania; and Andrius Mamontovas, CLO and Partner at FORT Legal - among others.

Marius Jurgilas, CEO of Axiology commented: “David and Boris bring a level of experience that reinforces our ambition to build infrastructure that institutional markets can rely upon. Their collective experience speaks directly to what we are working to achieve and we look forward to harnessing their knowledge and experience moving forward.”

The appointments come at a pivotal time for Axiology. The company has seen significant momentum in recent months, through €5m seed funding round, C-suite personnel expansion and continuing to secure new commercial partnerships. The latest announcement at board level will help continue the company’s growth trajectory upwards for the second half of 2026.

Jurigilas concludes: "These appointments mark an important step for Axiology, not just in terms of the individuals joining us, but in what their decision to join demonstrates where we are headed as a business.

“David and Boris bring hard-won experience across traditional finance and digital asset infrastructure, and they share our aim that the industry is ready for a new standard of regulated, institutional-grade infrastructure. We are building something that the market needs, and with a board of this capability behind us, I am confident we have the leadership in place to deliver it. The first half of 2026 was a success for Axiology and we are pleased to continue with the same level of momentum in the H2 following these latest appointments.”
